Mentorship

Prev Next

We're getting ready to launch Mentorship, a powerful new feature designed to transform how your organisation handles mentoring. This tool makes it easy to set up and manage all your mentoring initiatives. It supports you through intelligent matching, structured program management, and helpful analytics. You can volunteer as a mentor to share your expertise, or sign up as a mentee to develop the skills you need to grow.

Example Use Cases

  • Onboarding and integration: Pair new hires with experienced mentors to accelerate time-to-productivity and provide guidance on company culture and undocumented processes.

  • Targeted skill mastery: Launch programmes to close critical skill gaps by matching mentees seeking advanced skill development with relevant subject matter experts (SMEs). This matching is based on the skills rules set by an administrator.

  • Leadership development: Establish programmes where senior leaders coach emerging or new managers on strategic thinking and complex leadership skills.

  • Compliance and certification: Create short-term accountability programmes where recently certified colleagues mentor users pursuing the same mandatory certification or complex training.

Configuring Mentorship

To access the Mentorship dashboard, on the Thrive menu, go to Mentorship.

Setting up Your Mentorship Profile

  1. Under Choose how you want to join, select your role (mentor, mentee, or both) and click Continue.

  2. Follow the prompts to select the specific skill(s) you want to mentor in or improve, based on the role you selected, and click Continue.

  3. Depending on the role you selected, define your proficiency:

    • If you’re a mentor, select your current level for each skill you support, and click Continue.

    • If you’re a mentee, select your current and target levels for each skill you want to improve, and click Continue.

Matching and Connection

Thrive will now process your preferences to identify suitable partners.

  1. Review the profiles provided and click the Connect with [Name] button to connect with your potential partner.

  2. Once you’re matched, you can Schedule a session right away. If you selected Be both mentor & mentee, you can Continue to find a mentor to match with someone else.

The mentorship connection is created. Final confirmation is now with your partner, who can accept, decline, or reschedule.

From this central hub, you can:

  • View your current learning partners.

  • See an overview of upcoming and past sessions.

  • Schedule a new mentorship session.

  • Filter sessions and track skill progress.

Coming Soon

  • Advanced matching logic: Future releases will introduce the ability to match users based on additional criteria beyond skills, such as user fields and roles.

  • Content packs and goal setting: Administrators will gain the ability to link programs to specific content packs. This provides a structured way to guide the mentorship journey by specifying content for mentors and mentees to follow, enabling guided learning and structured goal setting in the relationship.
