# Theme

This article provides an overview of how each setting in the **Theme** section of your dashboard changes the look and feel of your Thrive platform.

## Accessing the Theme Configuration

To access these options, in the Thrive menu, go to **Configure** > **Platform settings** > **Theme**.

Click **Save changes** when you’re done, or **Cancel** to discard.

## App Title

| Configuration | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Name your platform** | Sets the name that appears in your browser tab, emails, and notifications. |

## Colours

### Default Appearance

Sets which appearance Thrive uses by default for anyone who hasn’t chosen a personal theme in their own **Theme** setting in their profile preferences. This never overrides a personal choice someone has already made – it only sets the starting point for new users and anyone who hasn’t touched their own setting.

| Configuration | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Light** | Displays Thrive with the standard light background and darker text |
| **Dark** | Displays Thrive with dark backgrounds and lighter text and elements |
| **System (Default)** | Follows each user’s own device or OS setting. For example, a user with dark mode enabled at the OS level sees Thrive in dark mode automatically. This is the default appearance if you haven’t chosen one yourself. |
| **Festive**, **Valentine’s**, **Easter**, **World Cup**, and **Halloween** | Seasonal appearances tied to the time of year |

### Brand Colour

Pick colours from your brand guidelines to appear on buttons, links, and throughout the interface.

| Configuration | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Light mode** | Your brand colour as used throughout the platform when it’s displayed in light mode |
| **Dark mode** | Your brand colour as used throughout the platform when it’s displayed in dark mode |

### Email Header Background

| Configuration | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Email header background** | Sets the banner colour behind your logo in emails sent from your platform. If you use a dark colour, the light version of your logo is displayed, and vice versa. |

## Logos

Add a light mode and a dark mode version of each logo below, used depending on whether your platform is displayed in light or dark mode.

| Configuration | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Primary logo** | Your full logo. Appears on your login screen and in the header and footer of the desktop platform and mobile app. PNG required. Minimum size: 115 (w) x 30 (h) px. Maximum size: 345 (w) x 90 (h) px. |
| **Brand mark** | A minimised, icon-only version of your logo, used where there isn’t room for the full logo. PNG required. Minimum size: 30 (w) x 30 (h) px. Maximum size: 90 (w) x 90 (h) px. |

## Favicon

The small icon shown in your browser tab, next to your app title, and in the Thrive menu when it’s collapsed. PNG required. Minimum size: 16 (w) x 16 (h) px. Maximum size: 150 (w) x 150 (h) px. Click **View guidance** for full specifications.

## Login Image

The image your learners see on your login screen. PNG required. Minimum size: 527 (w) x 640 (h) px. Maximum size: 1054 (w) x 1280 (h) px. Click **View guidance** for full specifications.

## Custom Link

Add a link to the Thrive menu. Everyone on your platform will see it alongside the default menu items.

| **Link label** | The text shown for your custom link in the Thrive menu. |
| **Link address** | The URL your custom link opens. |
