They're customisable content containers that automatically populate with dynamic, relevant learning materials based on the criteria you set. Instead of manually linking every piece of content, a Content Block lets you feature entire categories of content – from the latest resources to the most popular videos. Content Blocks serve two critical purposes: - **Site Structure**: They allow administrators to create a customised, engaging layout using the site builder. - **Dynamic Curation**: They automatically curate content for the end-user based on their role, team, or activity. There are six block types to choose from: - **Latest**: Shows the most recently added content - **Recommended**: Shows content matched to the user's profile and interests - **List**: Lets admins select and order specific content - **Trending**: Shows the most popular content, based on views, likes, comments, and shares - **Essential**: Shows content assigned to an audience, such as mandatory training - **People**: Shows experts and collaborators related to the user's interests > [!NOTE] > Note: > > For the full breakdown of layout, filter, and visibility options for each type, see [Homepage Block Types](/v1/docs/homepage-block-trending). If you're looking for inspiration when naming your blocks, see [Homepage Block Examples](/v1/docs/homepage-block-examples). By configuring these blocks, you ensure every user sees timely, relevant, and engaging content as soon as they log into Thrive.
