To create a reward: 1. In the Thrive menu, go to **Manage** > **Rewards**. 2. On the **Rewards** screen, select **Custom Badging** and click **+ Create reward**. ![Options for configuring rewards, including custom badges and achievements for users.](https://cdn.document360.io/3a0609fb-d96c-4ce1-aabe-d9338fb1e858/Images/Documentation/image(935).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-05T16%3A53%3A24Z&se=2026-11-05T17%3A53%3A24Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=%2BbvnGazrzDLAkOBAFVAwOPatX5vmw1YvUSNYABCX%2BTE%3D) 3. On the **Create reward** screen, under **Reward details**: 1. Click **Upload image** to add a badge image. We recommend a square (1:1) image. You can upload a PNG, JPG, or SVG file up to 5 MB. 2. Enter a **Reward name**. 3. (Optional) Enter a **Custom reward ID**, using lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only. This gives the reward a unique identifier, separate from its name, so it can always be identified correctly – even if another reward shares the same name. If you leave it blank, Thrive generates one automatically from the reward name. 4. (Optional) Enter a **Description** that clearly explains what the reward is for. 4. (Optional) Under **Translations**, click **Manage translations** to choose the languages you want to offer learners. 5. Under **Participants**, choose who should be included: - **Specific participants**: Restricts the badge to selected audiences and/or individual users. Click **+ Add participants**, then in the **Add participants** panel, search for and select the audiences or users to include, and click **Done**. - **Include everyone**: Keeps the badge open to all learners. 6. Under **Reward criteria**, define what learners must do to earn the badge: 1. Set the **Rule logic**: - **AND**: Learners must meet every condition to earn the badge. - **OR**: Learners earn the badge when any one condition is met. 2. From the first dropdown, select **Content**. 3. In the **Search for content** field, find and select the content. 4. From the **Select Action** dropdown, choose what the learner must do with the content, such as **Viewed**, **Liked**, or **Commented**. 5. To add a further condition to the rule block, click **Add another condition**. 7. Click **Review reward** to continue, then review the details and publish the badge. The custom badge will now appear on your list under **All Rewards**. > [!NOTE] > Note: > > Badges can only be awarded based on interactions with other content types. Events aren't currently supported.
