# Supported File Types for Content

**Supported file types** for Thrive content fall into three groups: files that open in the embedded viewer, files that learners download, and elearning packages.

## Embedded Viewer

- **Word processor files:** .pdf
- **Image files:** .png, .jpg, .gif, .svg
- **Video files:** .mp4, .mpg, .wmv, .avi, .mov, .webm

## Downloadable

- **Word processor files:** .txt, .doc, .docx
- **Spreadsheet files:** .xls, .xlsx
- **Presentation files:** .ppt, .pptx
- **Audio files:** .mp3, .m4a, .wav, .wma
- **Compressed files:** .zip

## Elearning Formats

Elearning content must be uploaded as a .zip file through the **E-Learning upload** option. The following formats are supported:

- SCORM 1.2
- TinCan (xAPI)
- CMI5
- SCORM 2004 (all editions)
- HTML package

HTML5 content can be uploaded either as elearning (for example, SCORM or CMI5) or as a plain HTML webpage within a zip file, with no progress tracking.

> The Thrive platform only supports single Shareable Content Object (SCO) formatted SCORM packages. Multi-SCO SCORM packages fail to upload.
