Audiences

An Audience is a defined group of users on the platform created for the purpose of sharing content, assigning training, and targeting specific features. Audiences ensure that only the intended users receive certain information, reducing noise and improving relevance.

Thrive offers two types of audiences:

  • Smart Audiences use rule-based criteria to dynamically determine membership based on a user’s profile data (for example, job role, location, start date).

  • Manual Audiences allow administrators to select and add users individually. These audiences do not rely on rules and require manual updates whenever a user needs to be added or removed. They are ideal for unique or cross-functional groups that do not share a common profile field (for example, all first aiders).
