SAP - How do I send HRIS data via SFTP?

SFTP (secure file transfer protocol) is a secure and private service for sending files over the internet. You can also securely upload reports on a one-time basis via a manual CSV upload. We utilize full files and delete rows that are not present in each transfer.

Why connect via SFTP rather than API?

• Security: Some security teams have pre-approved SFTP, enabling a quicker and smoother integration process especially if they are new to API-based integrations.

• Data Privacy: With SFTP you have full control over what data you share.

• Familiarity: Administrators are often already familiar and experienced with setting up SFTP integrations.

Data Format and Expectations

• Employee Type and Work Type must align with predefined values to ensure consistency.

• Email addresses must be unique within the system.

• Required fields must be provided for every user record.

• A staging environment will be available for SFTP integration testing.

• Test cases will validate:

  • Field mappings and data integrity.

  • Error handling for missing/incorrect data.

  • System behaviour for updates, deletions, and new entries.

• Deployment will be monitored to ensure stability.
