The Build it myself option in the Content Creator gives you full creative control over your learning content. Instead of using AI-guided tools, you can assemble your content manually, block by block, allowing for bespoke designs and specific sequencing of your materials.
Getting Started
On the Thrive menu, go to Create.
Under the Build it myself tile, click Create now.
You will be prompted to select a Collaboration. This determines which group of contributors has access to edit and manage the content.
Choose the appropriate Collaboration from the dropdown menu and click Continue.
You will now be taken to the editor, where you can manually create the content.
Using the Editor
Give your content a Title. This is the name displayed to learners when the content is published to them in Thrive.
Build your page by selecting from various interactive and static blocks. To add your first element, click on one of the following options:
Text: Add headers, body text, and formatted lists to provide context.
Image: Upload visual assets to support your written content.
PDF: Embed documents directly into the flow of the page for learners to read or download.
Link: Direct learners to external websites or internal platform resources.
Quiz: Create knowledge checks with various question types to test learner understanding.
Assessment: Add formal evaluations to track completion and competency.
Video: Upload or embed video files to create a more engaging, multi-media experience.
Columns: Create vertical layouts to display content side-by-side. This offers greater design flexibility, such as allowing authors to upload multiple images in a horizontal row rather than a single vertical stack.
Preview and Publish
As you build, you can use the Preview button at the top right to see how your content will look to a learner. Once you are happy with the layout and information, click Publish to make the content available on your Thrive platform.
