Rewards

Prev Next

Rewards allow you to recognise learners for specific activities in Thrive, letting you create and award custom badges to celebrate progress in a more personal way. When a custom badge is published, it's automatically awarded to learners as they complete the required activities, which can be based on interactions with various types of content.

Creating Custom Badges

  1. In the Thrive menu, go to Manage > Rewards and select Custom Badging.

  2. Under Custom Badging, click Create a badge.

  3. On the Create reward screen, under Reward details:

    1. Click Upload image to add a badge image. We recommend a square (1:1) image. You can upload a PNG, JPG, or SVG file up to 5 MB.

    2. Enter a Reward name and a Description that clearly explains what the reward is for.

  4. (Optional) Under Translations, click Manage translations to choose the languages you want to offer learners.

  5. Under Reward criteria, define what learners must do to earn the badge:

    1. Set the Rule logic:

      • AND: Learners must meet every condition to earn the badge.

      • OR: Learners earn the badge when any one condition is met.

    2. From the first dropdown, select Content.

    3. In the Search for content field, find and select the content.

    4. From the Select Action dropdown, choose what the learner must do with the content, such as Viewed, Liked, or Commented.

    5. To add a further condition to the rule block, click Add another condition.

  6. Click Review reward to continue, then review the details and publish the badge.

The Custom Badge will now appear on your list under Custom Badging.

Note:

Badges can only be awarded based on interactions with other content types. Events aren't currently supported.

Viewing and Managing Custom Badges

Once you've created a custom badge, it will appear in the rewards interface, where you can track and manage all active badges.

Learners can view the custom badges they've earned and their accumulated points on their profile and Learn page. They'll also get a notification whenever they earn a new custom badge.

You have the ability to delete custom badges, which will permanently remove them from learners' profiles. This action is irreversible. It may take up to an hour for a deleted badge to disappear from the Badge section on a learner's profile.
