Localising Tags and the Explore Page

Prev Next

Make your content more accessible to a global audience by adding translations for tags. When a user's profile language is set to a specific language (like French), they'll see the corresponding translated tags on content and a localised Explore page.

Setting Up Tag Translations

  1. In the Thrive menu, go to Manage > Tags.

The Skills & Topics screen appears.

  2. Click Create Tag.

  3. Enter the Name of your new tag.

  4. Click Add translation.

  5. Choose the translation Language from the dropdown menu and enter the translated text.

  6. Click CREATE to save.

Once you've set this up, a user with their language set to French will see the French translation of your tags, while a user with their language set to English will see the English translation. This localised experience applies to both content tags and the Explore page, ensuring a consistent user experience.

Merging Tags with Translations

To simplify your tag management and ensure content remains accessible across different languages, you can merge similar tags. This process helps keep your tag list clean and organised.

To merge tags:

  1. Go to the Skills & Topics page.

  2. From the list, select the tags you want to merge.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Merge selected.

  4. Choose the single tag you want to keep and click MERGE.

    Important:

Once you click MERGE, any translations on the deleted tags will be permanently removed. Only the translations associated with the tag you chose to keep will remain.

Merging tags is a simple and effective way to maintain a clean, organised system and provide a more streamlined experience for all your users.
