Connections Tab

The Connections tab gives admins a dedicated view of their mentoring programme, showing how mentors and mentees are matched, whether they're meeting, and what outcomes those connections are driving. Click Explore on any table or chart to filter, add fields, or compare data for a deeper look.

Note:

Goal and skills impact figures can't be attributed to a specific Space.

Filters

Use the filter at the top of the screen to focus the dashboard on the Space you're interested in:

Summary

The Summary row gives an at-a-glance count for six key metrics: Joined (total participants), Matched (total mentors and mentees matched), Met (matched participants who have had a session), Created goals, Completed goals, and Gained skills.

Below the Summary row, each metric has its own section with a more detailed breakdown, described below.

How Many People Have Joined the Programme?

The Joined section below the Summary row shows the total number of participants in the programme, split by mentors and mentees.

How Well Are Mentors and Mentees Being Matched?

The Matched section shows the total number and percentage of participants matched, split by mentors and mentees, and the average days to match. Below these figures, charts break matches down by month, average days to match by month, match type, match status, and programme type.

Consider your percentage matched alongside your average days to match: a low match rate combined with a high average days figure suggests mentors and mentees are struggling to find the right fit.

Are Matched Pairs Meeting?

The Sessions section shows the percentage of matched pairs with at least one session, average sessions per match, total sessions, total participants, average session duration, and total session duration. Below these figures, charts show sessions and duration by month, and sessions by participant response (for example, accepted).

Focus on the percentage of matched users with at least one session and average sessions per connection: a low session rate after matching often points to pairs not meeting regularly.

What Impact Is Mentoring Having on Goals and Skills?

The Goal impact section shows the number of participants who created goals after their first mentoring session, how many of those goals were completed, and a breakdown of created goals by status.

The Gained skills impact section shows the number of participants who gained or improved skills after their first mentoring session, and how many skills those were.

Note:

Goal and skills figures reflect activity after a participant's first session – they're a proxy for engagement, not outcomes attributed directly to the mentoring connection.

Where Do I Look Up Individual Connections and Sessions?

The Connections and Sessions tables at the bottom of the screen give a detailed, row-by-row breakdown of every connection and session.

The Connections table will show multiple rows for the same connection id - these are different users who have a connection. You can see their roles, the connection status and when the connection was formed. You can also see the number of messages sent and the last message sent date in this connection by each user.

Note:

Message data is derived by matching conversation participants to connection participants - there is no direct key linking conversations to connections.
If the same two people have been matched in more than one relationship (e.g. rematched after a prior connection ended), their message activity will be attributed in full to every matching connection.
This means a connection that has since ended may still show a recent “Last message sent” date if the same pair are chatting under a new connection.

Message counts will not be divided between multiple connections with the same participants. Do not sum this field across more than one connection id (e.g. by space, or any other grouping), as this will double-count messages for any rematched pairs

Reporting reflects activity on the platform, so programmes with low adoption will show limited data initially.
