Relationships connect people across your organisation through structured, skill-based programmes. Depending on the programme type, you can volunteer as a mentor, coach, or sponsor to share your expertise and help others grow – or join as a mentee, coachee, or sponsee to develop the skills you need to reach your goals. Once matched, you can schedule sessions, track your progress, and communicate through chat – all without leaving Thrive.
Administrators enable the formation of relationships by adding a Mentorship Programme block to a Space. Once published, users are matched based on the programme type – mentoring, coaching, or sponsorship.
Example Use Cases
Mentoring – leadership development: An emerging manager is enrolled in a structured mentoring programme and matched with a senior leader to develop strategic thinking and advanced leadership skills over a six-month engagement.
Coaching – performance support: A manager identifies a team member who would benefit from targeted coaching. They're enrolled in the coaching programme and matched with an internal coach to work on a specific development area.
Sponsorship – high potential programme: A senior leader is paired with a high-potential employee as part of a formal sponsorship programme, actively advocating for their visibility and career progression within the organisation.
Setting Up a Programme
Administrators create programmes by adding a Mentorship Programme block to a new or existing Space in Manage > Spaces. During configuration, they select the programme type – Mentoring, Coaching, or Sponsorship.
Note:
For full setup instructions, see Mentorship Programme.
Joining a Programme
Once a Mentorship Programme is available in your organisation, you can also find and join it from the Relationships section of the Thrive menu.
The steps below show how to join a mentoring programme. The steps for coaching and sponsorship programmes follow the same flow.
Setting Up Your Profile
On the Thrive menu, go to Spaces.
Under Explore, click the relevant Space.
If you haven't joined yet, the Mentorship Programme block will prompt you to choose your role.

Managing Your Relationships
