Podcasts are coming to content items, giving learners a listen-anywhere version of any eligible content item, with no recording, studio time, or production cost involved.
What's New
Three audio formats: The same content item can generate as a multi-speaker podcast, a single-speaker bulletin, or a plain text-to-speech read-through. Language and speaker voice can't be chosen at this stage.
One setting for the whole tenant: An admin will switch on AI audio once, and every eligible content item becomes available for audio generation from then on.
Generate on demand, then instant for everyone: The first learner to request audio on an item triggers generation; the result is saved and served instantly to every learner after that.
A player that stays with you: Learners get an audio player and a persistent mini player, with playback and download controls that survive navigation around the platform.
Who It's For
Learners get hands-free, on-the-move access to content they'd otherwise have to sit and read.
Frontline and operational managers get a practical way to get updates and training to deskless teams quickly.
L&D leaders get a visible AI capability included in their existing plan.
Admins control the tenant-level setting that turns the capability on.
How It Works
An admin switches on AI audio for the tenant.
Learners see an audio option on any eligible content item.
The first learner to select it triggers generation, as Thrive builds a script from the content and produces the audio.
That audio is saved against the content item, so every learner after the first gets it immediately, with no wait and no repeat generation.
If generation fails, the learner sees a clear retry state rather than a partial or broken recording.
This is available on desktop only at launch, with mobile app support planned for a later release. It also currently applies only to content items with text content – SCORM and video transcripts aren't supported yet.
