Dark mode is a user interface design option that replaces bright backgrounds with dark tones, displaying text and other elements in lighter colours. It can help reduce eye strain, particularly in low-light environments, and may improve battery life on OLED or AMOLED screens. By minimising screen brightness, dark mode creates a more comfortable viewing experience, especially at night or in dim settings.
Enabling Dark Mode
In the Thrive menu, go to Configure > Theme.
To the right of Theme, click Dark mode.
Dark mode is now enabled on your Thrive account.
Note:
Your preferences are saved within your browser. If you switch to a different browser, device, or mobile app, you'll need to set your preferences again on that device.
FAQs
How is dark mode controlled within the Thrive platform?
At this time, the dark mode setting is only available behind a beta toggle within the dashboard area. Admin users can toggle this on and off at a platform level for all users, and then users will have the choice to define their own individual settings on the user preferences page. Individual users will see three theme options to choose from:
Default: The platform's original colour theme.
Dark mode: A darker interface for reduced eye strain.
System: Syncs with your device or browser settings.
Individuals will continue to see the default settings, unless they amend this within their user preferences. See below for a step-by-step guide to updating user preferences.
The beta toggle is activated - how do I switch between light and dark mode?
Once an admin has activated the beta toggle for dark mode, individual users can then decide how they want their platform to look.
