AI Assistant: SCORM and eLearning Package Support

The Thrive AI Assistant (Kiki) can read and understand content inside many common elearning package formats, helping learners search for information within courses – not just by course title or description. This includes support for a wide range of SCORM and digital learning package types commonly used across learning platforms and authoring tools.

Supported Package Types

Kiki currently supports content extraction from:

  • SCORM 1.1

  • SCORM 1.2

  • SCORM 2004

  • cmi5

  • Tin Can / xAPI

  • Adapt packages

  • Generic HTML learning packages

Support includes many packages created using tools such as:

  • Articulate Storyline

  • Articulate Rise

  • Adapt

  • Evolve

  • EdApp

What Kiki Can Read

Depending on the package type and how the content was authored, Kiki may be able to read and search:

  • Lesson and slide text

  • Page content

  • Transcripts and captions

  • Quiz and assessment questions

  • Audio narration transcripts

  • Multilingual/localised content

This helps learners discover relevant knowledge and answers directly from inside learning modules.

Storyline Support

Kiki supports Storyline SCORM exports and can extract searchable learning content from supported packages. This includes support for both standard and newer export formats.

Rise Support

Kiki supports Articulate Rise packages across multiple export formats. This includes support for multilingual and localised learning content where available.

Adapt and Evolve Support

Kiki supports Adapt and Evolve learning packages, including many standalone and SCORM-based exports. Searchable transcript extraction is supported for compatible media content.

Multilingual Content

Localised SCORM bundles are supported. Where packages contain multiple language versions, Kiki can identify and extract translated learning content to improve search experiences for global learners.

Quiz and Assessment Extraction

For supported package types, Kiki can extract:

  • Quiz questions

  • Answer content

  • Assessment text

  • Interaction prompts

This allows learners to search for specific concepts and knowledge contained within assessments and learning checks.

Reliability and Compatibility

Our ingestion pipeline includes compatibility handling for a wide variety of real-world package structures and export styles. This includes support for:

  • Nested manifests

  • Multiple manifests within a package

  • Inconsistent package structures

  • Legacy exports

These improvements help reduce upload issues and improve search consistency across learning content.

Current Limitations

Some specialist or highly proprietary authoring tools are not currently supported. Examples include:

  • Gomo

  • Kwantic

  • Litmos Spark

  • Skillcast

Some remote-hosted or streaming-only learning formats may also have limited support.
