Pathway completion: working example

A pathway originally contained three pieces of and was completed by a user last year. Since then, two additional pieces of content have been added. Will the user still show as 100% complete in the results, even though their actual progress is now only 60%?

To determine how completion is handled, ask yourself:

  1. Is the pathway set to accept historical or recent completions?

  2. Has it been more than six months since the user's last completion?

  • When the user next views the pathway, their progress will update to 60% to reflect the additional content.

  • Until they view the pathway, reports will still show them as 100% complete based on their previous completion.

  • The original completion from last year remains in records.

  • If the user completes the two new items more than six months after their last recorded completion, a new completion record will be created.

  • If the pathway is a one-off assignment, completing new content won’t affect compliance status.

  • If the pathway is recurring, the user must complete the new content to maintain compliance.

  • When the user next views the pathway, their progress will reset to 0%.

  • They will need to complete all items again to record a new completion.

  • The previous completion record always remains.

  • The user’s progress will change based on whether completions are still active or only recent completions are accepted.

  • In compliance-related pathways, the need for re-completion depends on whether it is a one-off or recurring assignment.
