Can a learner enroll in more than one event occurrence for the same event?
No - when a user is signed up to an event occurrence, they are not able to sign up to another event occurrence in that same event. When they are marked as “attended” on that occurrence, a completion record is created for them as events only require a single attendance record to mark it as completed.
As an admin, can I manually enroll an audience to an event?
Yes - It is possible to assign an individual or large groups of users to an event. The instructions can be found on our “Managing an Event: Manage your attendees” page
Can I update the author on events?
No - once an event has been created, the Author remains the same.
Is it possible to modify recorded attendance on events?
No - once attendance has been recorded, it is not possible to go back and update it again.
Why do the other event occurrence dates disappear when I enroll in an event occurrence?
When a user signs up to an event, any alternate future occurrences won't be visible to them while the event is active/scheduled, on the Event page. This is expected as it is only possible for a user to sign up to one occurrence of the same event at one time. Once their event date has passed, they will then be able to see the alternate occurrence again.
Can a registered attendee see the full attendee list for an event?
No - attendees cannot see any information relating to other attendees.
As an event author, why can I see a “Join Webinar” link before the event date?
This is expected behavior for the author. All other users accessing the event will not be able to see the “Join Webinar” link.
Can a host view and take attendance for their own session?
No - it is not possible for a host to view and take attenance. A host cannot see the “MANAGE” tab to view attendance information.
Can I customize columns in the export on the event’s attendance page?
No - the columns are static. If you are looking for additional options, please have one of your organization admins reach out to the Thrive Support team.
Can I export the waitlist of an event?
No - it is not possible to export the waitlist of an event.
How do you remove someone from a waitlist??
Only the attendee can remove themselves from a waitlist. It is not possible for anyone else to remove individuals from a waitlist.
What happens to a waitlist when an event is archived or if the event is cancelled?
In both situations, the waitlist is cleared out.
Who on the waitlist gets notified when a spot opens up?
All individuals on the waitlist get notified, at which point the spot is given to the first person to register to the event.
Can I modify the cancellation period after I created the event?
No - the cancellation period can only be set as the vent is being created.
Is it possible to update the author on an event?
No - the author is set at the time the event is created and it is tied to the user who posted the content. Even when using collaborations, the author will still be the user who posted the content despite the collaboration showing as the creator on the front end.
Can we add more attendees after the event has taken place?
Yes - To do so, simply navigate to the attendees page of the event and click on “Add Attendees”
Can you fail an event attendance?
No - an event cannot send a “fail” or “pass” status. This is limited to eLearning content and Quzes
Can you have the year show on event dates?
No - It is currently not possible to display a year on event dates.
Can you mark attendance before an event starts?
No - attendance can only be marked after the event has started.
Is it possible to add many sessions (occurrences) to an event?
Yes - From the Events page, simply click on “Add another session” and follow the onscreen instructions. Full details can be found on our “How to create multiple occurences of an event” page.
How do I update an event to be posted by a collaboration?
This is done in the same way you would do it for any piece of content. Find the Event, click on the "Edit” button, and scroll to the bottom. Beside the “Update” button, you will see a drop down option to select a collaboration.
Is it possible to mark attendance in bulk?
Yes - use the “Bulk Actions” drop down from the Attendees page. Full details on how to do this can be found on our “Marking Attendance for an Event” page.
How do I mark an event status to Complete?
To do this, you must mark the attendee as “Attended”. Full details on how to do this can be found on our “Marking Attendance for an Event” page.
Is it possible to view an attendance list for an archived event?
Yes - To view an attendance list for an archived event , you can generate a report of the attendee list. This is done by navigating to the bottom of the list and clicking the EXPORT button. This action will generate a .csv file, which you can download once it's ready. The .csv file will include details such as the attendee's first and last names, event title, occurrence, start and end dates, session count, date booked, and attendance status.
Please note the only people that are administrator or the author of the event will have access to the archived event once attendance has been recorded, it is not possible to go back and update it again.
Is it possible to prevent users from registering hours before an event?
No - it is not possible to prevent users from closing registration to an event before it launches.
Is it possible to prevent users from canceling to a registered event?
Yes - when creating the event you have the option to set a setting called “Select how many days before the event an attendee can cancel”. This setting prevents users from cancelling their attendance if they fall within the set value. For example, if you enter 2 days, users will not be able to cancel their attendance if the event is within 2 days.
Can we customize how often a user gets reminded of an upcoming event?
No - the reminder is set to send out 7 days before the event is set to begin.
Is it possible to add events to a Pathway?
Yes - they can be added to a pathway like any other content. The caveat being that completion is dependent on the user being marked as “Attended” for the event.
If a user declines the event calendar invite, does it cancel the event registration?
No - it only removes/cancels it from thier calendar. To properly cancel the event registration, the user will have to login to the platform and update their own enrollment status.
Is it possible to bulk import events?
No - events can only be created one at a time.
Is it possible to create an event that occurred in the past?
Yes - the platform allows you to select any range of dates for an event, including dates that have occurred in the past.
Is it possible to mass edit events?
No - events can only be updated one at a time.
What is the character limit for Event summaries?
2500 characters
Why is it that when I view the activity tab, my status for the event shows as “Viewed” instead of “Registered”. Why is that?
The “activity tab” displays the most recent action of “Activity”. Meaning that if you register for an Event, then leave the Event page, and then later return to the Event page, you have now “Viewed” it again. Therefore, the Activity tab will show a “Viewed” instead of a registered status.
Is it possible to see who registered a user to an event?
No - it is not possible for a Super Admin or Learning Admin to see who registered a user to an event. Please contact our support team for assistance.
Does an attendee’s status of “In Progress” disappear when the event starts?
Yes - An Event will appear in the attendees' In Progress section of their profile, including on the day the event starts, until the start time is reached. Once the start time has been reached, the learner is expected to either be attending it live, be dropped from it or marked as Did Not Attend.
With MS Teams, can anyone with the link access the event or do they need to be enrolled in Thrive?
The user needs to be enrolled in the event in Thrive for the link to work.
With the APIs, is it possible to report on which session within an event a user was registered?
No - once attendance has been recorded, it is not possible to go back and update it again.
