Create events in Thrive to schedule and manage live learning sessions, webinars, and in-person training. Whether you're hosting a company-wide seminar or a small group workshop, events help you organize, track attendance, and engage participants effectively.
Creating an Event
In the Thrive menu, go to Create > Event.
The Add an event screen appears.In Title of your event, enter title for your event.
Click ADD NEW EVENT.
(Optional) To change the thumbnail, under Thumbnail Preview, select an auto-generated image or click Change to upload your own.
In Summary, provide a brief description of the event.
To control how users sign up for the event:
If you want users to manually sign up, toggle Self Registration Enabled to NO.
If only the event organizer or admin should be able to add users to the event, leave it set to YES.
To control whether users can cancel their attendance within a specific timeframe:
To allow users to cancel within a defined period, toggle Set a cancellation period to YES.
To remove any time restrictions on cancellations, toggle Set a cancellation period to NO.
If you selected YES, under Select how many days before the event the attendee can cancel, enter the number of days or choose from one of the Suggestions below.
In Occurrence details, enter the following information:
Spaces available: Set the attendance limit. Leave blank for unlimited sign-ups.
Timezone: Select the time zone for where the event will take place.
Label: Enter the name of the city or building where the event will be held.
Host: Choose the event host from the list of users.
In Session details, choose how the event will be hosted:
For a physical location: Leave the toggle off and enter the address in Enter address here.
For an online event: Set the toggle on and enter the event link in Paste the launch URL here.
Enter the following information:
Date: Select the date of the event.
Start Time: Enter the event’s start time.
End Time: Enter the event’s end time.
If the event spans multiple days, click add another session and add the same details (Date, Start Time, End Time, etc.) as described above.
Note:
Any users signing up for the event will need to attend all listed dates to complete the event.
If needed, in Choose skills, tag the event with relevant skills to help participants identify the key learning areas.
If needed, in Choose topics, tag the event with relevant topics to associate it with. This helps categorize the event and makes it easier for users to find events related to specific themes or subjects.
If you only want to share the event with specific users:
Under Share with people, search for the individual users or user groups you want to share the event with.
Select Only visible to the members shared with to restrict access to the event to only the selected users.
If you want the event to be open for users to share with others, select Allow resharing.
To notify users when they receive the event invite:
Toggle Notify to YES.
(Optional) Enter a message.
Click Post.
The event is created and shared. If notifications were enabled, users will be notified. To make changes, click EDIT.
Advanced Settings
(Optional) Under Advanced settings, set a Duration (time limit) for the event.
To disable comments, toggle Disable Comments on.
To link the quiz to skill boosting:

Skill boosting must be enabled on your Thrive instance to use this feature.
Toggle Skill boosting on.
Select the skill, level, and completion requirements for the event. In the example below, the user will achieve Intermediate level after completing the event:
Click Post or Update.
Advanced settings are applied to the event. If skill boosting is enabled, users will see a banner confirming that the event has skill boosting displayed on the event page.
Editing an Event
On the event page, click MANAGE.
The Management Area screen for the event appears. On this screen, you can take attendance and update both the main event and any occurrences you have configured.Click EDIT for the event you want to modify.
Edit the Occurrence details and Session details as per the steps outlined in Creating an Event above.
Click UPDATE.
The event is updated with the new details.
