AI Configuration is where administrators turn on and manage the AI capabilities across your Thrive platform. From one screen you choose which AI providers to use, switch on the AI Assistant and other AI features, and control who can access each one.
To get there, go to Configure > AI configuration in the Thrive menu.
Providers
Choose which AI providers you're comfortable using. Thrive supports:
OpenAI: GPT and DALL-E for text and image generation.
Google Gemini: Gemini for text, image, and video generation.
Note:
Enabling a provider means consenting to it processing your data as part of Thrive's services, so review the AI Privacy and Usage Policy first. You can disable AI tools at any time.
AI Assistant
The AI Assistant – nicknamed Kiki – gives your people instant, AI-driven answers to their questions, drawing on your platform content and approved sources. Toggle it on, set its default provider, and use the audience dropdown to choose who can use it.
Click Assistant settings to customise how the AI Assistant behaves – its name, tone of voice, how strictly it sticks to your content, trusted web search, and connected file sources. The AI Assistant also offers specialised ways of working, including a Coach mode that turns a conversation into a structured coaching session for learners, and an Analyst mode that lets Super Admins ask plain English questions about platform data.
Note:
For full setup details, see AI Assistant: Setup and Administration.
Features
This section is where you enable additional AI features and choose who can use each one:
Summarise Content: Lets users generate a concise summary when viewing a piece of content.
AI tag suggestions: Recommends relevant tags based on content to improve how easily it's found.
Content Creator
The Content Creator brings AI into content authoring. Each tool can be toggled on independently, with its own default provider and audience:
Content Creator: Text generation: Powers text-based tools such as course building, automated quiz creation, and writing assistance.
Content Creator: Image generation: Creates custom images from text descriptions.
Content Creator: Video generation: Creates short videos from text descriptions.
Note:
For how to build content with these tools once they’re enabled, see Content Creator.
