Assistant Name
Enter a name for your AI Assistant in the Assistant Name field. This is how it will appear to learners across the platform. Click Save to apply.
Tone of Voice
Select how you want your assistant to communicate. Choose the style that best fits your organisation's culture..png?sv=2022-11-02&spr=https&st=2026-05-26T16%3A01%3A19Z&se=2026-05-26T16%3A14%3A19Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=vKDTRcFcyvLmOPS5%2BuHdg9pmKYfVjXFi3Z%2FxM5YSP2E%3D)
Option | Description |
|---|---|
Casual | Friendly, conversational, and relaxed. |
Balanced | Professional yet personable. A neutral tone that fits most audiences and use cases. |
Formal | Polite, concise, and authoritative. |
Response Behaviour
Control how your AI Assistant uses sources when responding to questions. Select one of the following modes.
Mode | Description |
|---|---|
Conversational | General chat mode – the AI Assistant can discuss any topic freely, drawing on general knowledge as well as your platform content. |
Grounded with general knowledge | Uses your platform content as the primary source but can supplement responses with general knowledge where needed. |
Strict sources only | Only responds using content from your platform. If the answer can’t be found, the AI Assistant will say so. This is the default mode. |
Note:
If no response behaviour mode is configured, the assistant defaults to Strict sources only. This maintains consistency with previous behaviour and ensures existing customers experience no unexpected change in how the assistant respond.
Trusted Web Search
Toggle Trusted Web Search on to allow the assistant to reference approved public domains in its responses.
To add a domain, enter it in the Add New URL field and click + Add New URL. Added domains appear in the Approved URLs list, where they can be edited or removed at any time.
Connector Search
Connect your assistant to external file sources, such as Dropbox and Google Drive, so it can reference your organisation's documents when generating responses.
Click Connect next to a provider and sign in to select the files or folders you want to share.
Analysing Your Platform Data With the AI Assistant
Super Admins can use the AI Assistant's Analyst mode to ask plain English questions about their platform data and receive instant answers. Responses can include written summaries, interactive charts, or data tables, and are best viewed in Zen mode - a full-screen view that makes data easier to read and interact with.
To switch into Analyst mode, open the AI Assistant and select Analyst from the mode selector in the assistant header. Analyst mode is an explicit opt-in – it does not activate automatically.
Once in Analyst mode, you can:
Ask natural language questions about your platform data – for example, "Show me the top 10 learners with the most overdue learning."
Receive responses as written summaries, interactive charts, or data tables.
Ask follow-up questions to drill further into the data – for example, requesting a different chart type or a breakdown by team or manager.
Expand View SQL below a response to see how your question was interpreted.
Copy, download, or send results via email using the share options below each response
To switch to Zen mode, click the display mode icon in the assistant header and select Zen mode.
