Custom Badging

Custom Badges allow you to recognise learners for specific activities in Thrive, letting you create and award badges to celebrate progress in a more personal way. When a badge is published, it's automatically awarded to learners as they complete the required activities, which can be based on interactions with various types of content.

Managing Custom Badges

1. In the Thrive menu, go to Manage > Rewards and select Custom Badging.
   

2. Under Custom Badging, click Create a badge.

3. Under Reward details:

   1. Click Upload image to add a badge image (80 × 80 px is the recommended size).

   2. Enter a Reward name and a Description clearly explaining what the reward is for.

4. Under Requirements, define the rules for how a learner earns the badge:

   1. Set the Rule logic:

      • AND: Learners must meet every condition to earn the badge.

      • OR: Learners earn the badge when any one condition is met.

   2. Search for the content using the Search for content field.

   3. Select an action from the Select Action dropdown to choose what the learner must do with the content to earn the badge: Viewed, Liked, Commented, Shared, or Completed.

   4. Click + Add another condition to add a further condition to the rule block.

5. (Optional) Click the Translations button to add translations for the badge details.

6. Click CREATE.

The Custom Badge will now appear on your list under Custom Badging.

Note:

Badges can only be awarded based on interactions with other content types. Events aren't currently supported.

Viewing and Managing Badges

Once you've created a badge, it will appear in the rewards interface, where you can track and manage all active badges.

Learners can view the badges they've earned and their accumulated points on their profile and Learn page. They'll also get a notification whenever they earn a new badge.

You have the ability to delete badges, which will permanently remove them from learners' profiles. This action is irreversible. It may take up to an hour for a deleted badge to disappear from the Badge section on a learner's profile.
