Events are live and virtual learning sessions you can find, register for, and attend in Thrive – from in-person workshops to online webinars and virtual training. When you attend an event, Thrive records your completion automatically, so it counts towards your learning record.
Note:
To create events, see Creating an Event.
Finding Your Events
To see the events available to you, go to Learn > Events in the Thrive menu. This opens your My events screen, where you can keep track of everything you've signed up for.
Your events are split across two tabs:
Upcoming Events: Events you're registered for that are still to come
Past Events: Events you've attended or that have finished
Registering for an Event
Open an event to see its full details, including what you'll learn, the date and time, and whether it's in person or online. Each occurrence shows how many spaces remain, so you can see whether you can still register.
If spaces are available, select Sign Up to register. Your manager can also sign you up – for example, by adding their team to an event using Enrol Team.
Note:
Manager enrolment must be enabled in the event settings before managers can enrol their team. For more information, see Event Settings.
Interacting With an Event
From the event page, you can interact with the event using the action buttons below the cover image:
Heart: Like the event.
Share: Share the event with others.
Pin: Pin the event for quick access.
Flag: Report the event. Selecting this opens a modal where you can choose a reason and add a comment before submitting your report.
Joining a Waitlist
If an event is fully booked, select Join waitlist to be added to the waiting list. As soon as a space opens up, everyone on the waitlist is notified, and the first person to register takes the spot.
Only you can remove yourself from a waitlist. If an event is cancelled or archived, its waitlist is cleared automatically.
Calendar Invites and Reminders
When you register, Thrive sends a confirmation email with a calendar invite attached, so the event lands straight in your calendar. You'll also get a reminder seven days before the event, plus a notification if any details change.
Declining the calendar invite doesn't cancel your registration – it only removes the event from your calendar. To cancel properly, update your registration in Thrive.
Cancelling Your Registration
To cancel, open the event and update your registration status.
Some events have a cancellation period. If the organiser has set one, you won't be able to cancel within a set number of days before the event starts. If you're inside that window and your plans change, contact the event organiser or your administrator.
Attendance and Completion
You don't need to mark your own attendance – the event host or an administrator records who attended after the session.
Once you're marked as attended, Thrive creates a completion record and the event shows as complete in your learning record. Until the start time, a registered event sits in the In Progress section of your profile.
