Audience-based skill assignment lets you assign Skills – along with current target levels – directly to a manual audience. Skills assigned this way appear automatically on every learner's profile within that audience.
Note:
Audience-based skill assignment is currently available for manual audiences only. Smart Audiences are not supported. For more information about audience types, see Audiences.

Use the Select skill level dropdowns to set the Current level and the Target level for the skill. These correspond to the levels set up during configuration (for example, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, or 1, 2, 3).
Click Add skill to confirm.
The skill now appears on the Skills tab for that audience, showing the skill name and assigned level. It will be added to the profile of every learner currently in the audience, and any members added to the audience in the future.
Editing or Removing an Assigned Skill
To edit or remove a skill from an audience, go to the Skills tab and click ... next to the skill you want to change.
To edit the target level:
Click Edit skill.
In the Select skill level dropdown, choose a new target level.
Click Save.
To remove a skill:
Click Remove skill.
Click Remove skill to confirm.
Important:
Learners in the audience will lose the skill from their profile. You can reassign the skill to the audience at any time.
When a skill is removed from an audience, learners regain full control over that skill on their profile.
Super Admins can also remove a skill from an individual learner's profile even if it was assigned through an audience.
How Assigned Skills Behave
Once a skill is assigned to an audience, the following rules apply:
Assigned skills appear automatically on each learner's profile.
Learners can’t remove an audience-assigned skill from their profile unless they or the skill are removed from the audience.
Learners can’t adjust the current or target level of a skill assigned through an audience, unless they or the skill are removed from the audience.
If the platform is configured to allow learners to adjust their own target levels, learners can increase – but not lower – the target level of an audience-assigned skill.
Behaviour for adjusting current levels is unchanged from standard platform configuration.
If a learner belongs to multiple audiences that assign the same skill, Thrive applies the highest current and target levels automatically.
The order in which skills and audience members are added does not matter – learners receive the skill regardless.
