Assessment

Prev Next

Assessment is a major new feature for the Thrive Platform and Thrive Mobile App designed to streamline the critical process of verifying practical, on-the-job skills. This powerful tool digitises the fragmented, paper-based tracking currently used for real-world evaluations. Assessments enable managers to formally assess learners and log verifiable, auditable results directly against the learner’s profile, ensuring consistency and clear skill progression across your organisation.

Example Use Cases

Assessments are designed for documenting competence in real-world, hands-on tasks, offering a crucial alternative to Quizzes, which primarily test asynchronous knowledge recall. Example use cases include:

  • Retail: Store managers verifying correct food preparation, machinery checks, or securing opening/closing procedures.

  • Manufacturing: Line managers documenting hands-on equipment handling and safety compliance protocols.

  • Hospitality: Supervisors confirming practical onboarding tasks, such as standardised greeting procedures or equipment setup.

  • Aviation: Trainers assessing pre-flight safety checks and emergency preparedness procedures.

Accessing and Initiating an Assessment

Learners can access the Assessment from their main learning page. If the Assessment requires manager completion, the manager will see specific options when they view the Assessment page.

  • For the Learner: The learner can copy the Assessment link and send it directly to their manager for assessment.

  • For the Manager: When the manager clicks the link or navigates to the Assessment, they will see two tabs:

    • Assess someone (Default): Used to start the assessment for a specific learner.

    • Your own assessment: Used if the manager needs to complete the assessment themselves (self-assessment).
