Badges

Prev Next

Badges allow you to track progress and achievements from interaction and engagement with the Thrive platform. The Badges can be from a standardised collection of Badges that are based on general interaction on the platform. Or they can be a custom-built collection of Badges which are awarded for interacting with specific content items.

How Do You Earn Badges?

One of the most commonly earned standard Badges is “Major Login”, which requires you to log into the platform on 5 separate occasions. There are many ways to earn Badges from interacting with the Thrive platform, such as:

  • Uploading a profile picture

  • Posting content

  • Liking and sharing content

  • Following other users

  • Following tags

And many other ways!

If Custom Badges are enabled, then these Badges will be unique to your organisation and can be set up to be awarded for performing any of the following actions on a specific content item:

  • Viewing

  • Liking

  • Commenting

  • Sharing

  • Completing

Once you have completed all the required actions to earn a Badge, you will be automatically given it; you do not need to claim the Badge separately.

How Do You Know if You’ve Earned a Badge?

Thrive notifies you automatically which Badge you have just been awarded immediately after you earn it. The in-app notification will say, “Congratulations! You've Earned a New Badge: [Name of Badge]” and then provide you with a link to your Profile’s All Badges page. If you have email notifications turned on, you will also receive an email to your inbox with the same messaging and the same link.

Where Can You Find Your Badges?

Your Badges are stored on your Learn Page under the Badges section. Follow the steps below to access this.

  1. Click Learn.

  2. Select Badges.

You can also view your Badges on your Profile page.

  1. Click on your Profile image on the bottom left.

  2. Click View Profile.

  3. Scroll down to My Badges.

To share a Badge on your LinkedIn profile as a “Licence or Certification”, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Badges page or My Badges on your Profile.

  2. Click the Badge you want to share to open it.

  3. Click Add to LinkedIn.

  4. LinkedIn will open in a separate tab – you may need to log into your LinkedIn profile.

  5. Fill out any missing information on the form.

  6. Click Save.

Who Can See Your Badges?

Any Thrive user who accesses your Profile page will be able to see all the Badges you have achieved under the Badges section of your Profile.

Can You Lose a Badge?

Once you have achieved a Badge, the only way that you can lose the Badge is if your Thrive platform is configured to use Custom Badges and the Badge itself is deleted from the Rewards section of the platform. If the Badge is awarded for interaction on a specific content item and that content item is archived or deleted, the Badge will still be available to view in your Profile.

Custom Badges

While Thrive offers a standard set of badges, you can also create custom badges to recognise unique achievements in your organisation. This lets you personally reward learners for specific activities, like completing a mandatory course or viewing a key video.

Once a custom badge is published, it's automatically awarded to learners as soon as they meet the criteria you've set.

Note:

For more information on how to create, manage, and track these personalised rewards, see Custom Badging.
