Features

Prev Next

The Features tab in Platform settings lets Super Admins turn core Learn features on or off, and control what user types each feature rolls out to. You'll find it at Configure > Platform Settings > Features.

Available Features

The features you can control from this screen are:

Audience Roll-Out

You can choose which of the following user types sees all features except for Skills:

  • Everyone: The feature is visible to all learners.

  • Admins only: Only admins can see the feature; it's hidden from learners.

  • Specific audience(s): The feature is visible only to a chosen audience.

Note:

Goals depends on Skills being switched on. If you try to turn on Goals while Skills is off, you'll need to enable Skills first.

What Happens When You Disable a Feature

Turning off a feature removes it everywhere across Thrive, including for admins:

  • The feature disappears from the Thrive menu and any other navigation.

  • Direct links or URLs to the feature no longer work.

  • It's removed from the Create screen, so learners can't start new content of that type.

  • It no longer appears in the content flow or on user profiles.

Above the removal list, an impact panel titled What turning this off removes shows exactly what disappears for that feature before you switch it off.

Example:

For example, switching the Overview section off removes the Overview section under Learn.

Explanation of features removed when turning off a specific setting in the application.

Disabling Events only stops new events being created. Events that already exist stay visible, and learners can still register for them.

Further Information

  • Audience roll-out only affects what learners see. Admins can always see every feature, whatever its roll-out setting.

  • Some features are linked, so check the impact panel before disabling one that others may depend on.
